State Bike Route 25 originates not far from Smithtown homes for sale and ends at Orient Point in the North Fork for a total length of 67 miles. The route, which is designed to use existing roads with wide shoulders and minimal traffic, passes beautiful scenery along the north edge of Long Island. Take in different sights going the other direction on State Bike Route 25A, which runs 18 miles from Smithtown to the area near Cold Spring Harbor.

The 200-acre estate has been featured in dozens of movies and TV shows, including North by Northwest and The Gilded Age, while the grounds and gardens remain largely as they were when the manor house served as the home for the Phipps family. Old Westbury Gardens is open 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. every day but Tuesday through October 31. Admission is $8-$15, and tickets must be purchased in advance.
